Privacy Policy
QTES respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit our website, contact us, subscribe to updates or apply for a position.

1. Who We Are
The controller responsible for your personal data is:
QTES AG
Aegeristrasse 34, 6300 Zug, Switzerland
Email: contact@qtes.ch
Website: www.qtes.ch
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and other applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation where it applies.
2. Personal Data We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, access times and server logs.
- Contact data: Your name, email address, company and information you provide in correspondence or website forms.
- Subscription data: Your email address, subscription preferences and records of consent.
- Recruitment data: Your CV, cover letter, professional background, research, code samples and other application materials.
- Cookie and usage data: Our website does not use cookies, analytics tools or other tracking technologies.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to operate and secure our website, respond to enquiries, provide requested updates and assess job applications. Where analytics are used, we use the resulting information to understand website usage and improve its performance. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are:
- Legitimate interests: Operating a secure website, managing business enquiries and improving our services.
- Steps before entering into a contract or contractual necessity: Handling relevant service requests and job applications.
- Consent: Sending subscribed updates and using technologies that require consent.
- Legal obligations: Meeting applicable recordkeeping, disclosure and other legal requirements.
You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website does not set any cookies and does not use analytics or other tracking technologies. Fonts, images and all other files are served from our own domain.
If we introduce optional cookies or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this policy and, where consent is required, activate them only after you agree. Browser settings also allow you to block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect website functionality.
5. Newsletters and Updates
If you subscribe to our updates, we use your details to send the communications you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.
We send our updates using Mailchimp, a service of Intuit Inc. (USA), which stores and processes your email address and subscription data on our behalf. Our emails contain tracking pixels and tracked links that tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this information to understand how our updates are received. You can avoid this tracking by unsubscribing or by turning off the automatic loading of images in your email client.
6. Job Applications
We use application materials to assess your suitability for a position and communicate with you during recruitment. Access is limited to people involved in the hiring process.
Unsuccessful application materials are retained for six months after the recruitment process ends, unless a longer period is legally required or you agree to their retention for future opportunities. Successful applicants receive separate information about employee data processing.
7. Who Receives Your Data
We share personal data only where necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Recipients include:
- Website hosting, security and IT providers.
- Email providers: Google (Google Workspace) for our correspondence and Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) for our newsletter. We do not use analytics providers.
- Professional advisers where necessary.
- Authorities where disclosure is legally required.
- A prospective buyer or successor where necessary in connection with a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer required.
8. International Transfers
Our providers may process personal data outside Switzerland.
Our website hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) and our email provider (Google) and our newsletter provider (Mailchimp) may process personal data in the United States and in other countries where they operate. These transfers are based on the standard contractual clauses included in each provider’s standard data processing terms.
Where required, transfers are protected through recognised adequacy decisions, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
9. How Long We Keep Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for its purpose, subject to legal retention requirements and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Our retention periods are:
- Technical and security logs: 90 days.
- Enquiries and correspondence: up to two years after our last contact, unless they form part of business records we must keep for longer under Swiss law (generally ten years).
- Newsletter subscriptions: Until you unsubscribe, with limited consent or suppression records retained for as long as needed to respect your opt-out and to show your consent, and at most three years after you unsubscribe.
- Job applications: As described in Section 6.
- Cookies: As specified in Section 4.
We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer required.
10. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and disclosure. These measures are adapted to the nature of the data and the risks involved.
11. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or transfer of your data. You may also object to certain processing and withdraw consent.
To exercise your rights, contact info@qtes.ch. We may request information necessary to verify your identity.
You may raise concerns with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or, where applicable, your local data protection authority.
12. Automated Decisions
We do not make decisions about website visitors or job applicants solely through automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
13. External Websites
Our website may link to external websites. Their operators are responsible for their own data processing. Please review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our website, data practices or applicable requirements. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
